This project involved the renovation of a heritage sandstone cottage at the front of the property, alongside the demolition and rebuild of a contemporary rear extension – all designed by Carter Williamson Architects.
Artechne was engaged as the builder, responsible for executing a highly complex construction brief. From the detailed restoration of the original sandstone cottage to a 7-metre deep excavation through rock, this build pushed the limits on every front. It included off-form concrete walls and ceilings, custom steel-framed windows, doors and stairs, as well as the integration of geothermal energy and a fully automated home control system.
A thoroughly engrossing and rewarding project, Wurrungwuri stands as a proud example of Artechne’s ability to deliver ambitious architectural visions through technical excellence and craftsmanship.
